The Cogstone's function remains an enigma like the origin of ancient beer. No one knows exactly how beer was invented, but the process has been evolving ever since. We, at cogstone, are more than just another cog in the quest to produce the perfect pint. Using history and the senses, our goal is to produce classic styles with a twist of the new. What is a Firkin anyway? A firkin is a small, 5 gallon keg that holds about 40 pints. We start with one of our flagship or seasonal brews, then put some of it in the firkin to ferment with interesting ingredients. This allows us experiment with new and exciting flavor combinations in limited batches. We sell pints of our firkin beers at a discounted price of $4.00 so we can clean the keg and try something else new and interesting the following week.
